Hi! My name is Scott and I am the Licensed Massage Therapist, Ordained Minister, and Reiki Master for Laki. Most people wonder what makes a person want to pursue a career in massage. For me, it is simply to bring healing and relaxation to people who are hurried and overwhelmed by the ever-increasing stressors of daily life.
My education, training, and career background is quite diverse. I have an Associates of Applied Science in Personnel Administration and a Bachelor's of Science in Human Resources--both degrees were completed while serving on Active Duty with the United States Air Force for over ten years. Upon completion of my enlistment with the USAF, I worked for SBC in Dayton, OH. During this time, I became an Ordained Minister with World Christianship Minstries and am registered with the State of Ohio to perform wedding ceremonies(see services and pricing for more information). Continuing my education, I completed one year (of a two year program) in Physician Assistant (PA) studies at Kettering College of Medical Arts. After my first General Practice Rotation in the PA program, I realized that my desire to work in the field of Healing Arts was better suited as a Massage Therapist. I graduated from The American School of Massage Therapy in November 2005, sat for the Ohio State Medical Board Massage Therapy Exam in December 2005, and licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Massage Therapy January 13, 2006. While attending massage school, I also studied Reiki and earned certification in Reiki I, Reiki II, and Reiki III (Master/Teacher).
I am one of those people who firmly believe that if you don’t take care of your “being”, it will get your attention one way or the other. I have found that through professional massage a client can focus, center, and relax which brings energy and healing to the mind, body, and spirit. Reiki is an extra-ordinary compliment to massage therapy helping to alleviate the "dis-comfort of dis-ease".
